Meet The Team!
Who We Are
Louise van Oel
President
I grew up in Belgium and the Netherlands, moving here two years ago to start my Joint Specialization English and History degree with a professional writing minor. Last year, I was CASE VP Academic, and co-organised the LUCC conference and journal. I love medieval literature and ancient history, and especially exploring the connections between them. Ideally, I would like to work in academic publishing somewhere down the line, but first I'm planning on grad school next year in a Medieval English MA. My favourite novel is Thirst (Soif) by Amélie Nothomb!
Morgan Kittson
VP of Publications
Hi! I’m Morgan, and I’m thrilled to be part of CASE this year as VP Publications. I’ve been a part of pixie literary magazine, LUCC, and Yiara Magazine, a feminist publication run out of the Fine Arts faculty, and had my work published in a few journals as well. Please feel free to drop by during my office hours to discuss anything publications-related. As a final year Honours English and Creative Writing student, I’m also more than happy to chit-chat about Graduate School applications. And as a human being, I enjoy discussing foods and cats.
Gabriel Verghese
Creative Writing Member-at-Large
Hi, my name is Gabriel Verghese (he/him), but pretty much everyone calls me Gabe. I’m so excited to serve as CASE’s Creative Writing Member at Large! My creative output is mostly short stories, but I've also written plays, music, poetry, and ran a DnD campaign. As a neurodivergent student, I haven’t always felt accepted in academic circles, but the creative writing events I have participated in at Concordia have only made me want to get more involved. I want to foster a safe space, and, selfishly, I just want to meet all of you and hear your cool ideas.
Laetitia Forcione
VP of Communications
Hello! My name is Laetitia (she/them), and I am so honoured to be your VP of Communications this year! I'm originally from Italy, but I moved here from Malta 4 years ago to study Marketing and English Literature. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do in the future, but for now, I'm extremely interested in getting a second degree in Environmental Sciences/Engineering. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, crocheting and baking bread. Please don't hesitate to drop by the CASE office during my office hours if you need any help or just feel like having a chat!
